Here at oolu, we have a beautiful office in the Old Knows Factory; a historic building in Nottingham city centre. We share the building with a whole range of creative, digital and service based companies.
We have the awesome RB5 gym onsite, sandblasted walls, high ceilings, tall windows and have enjoyed putting our stamp on the place.
But sometimes we get cabin fever and need to escape the four walls. We find dividing our time between the office, Antenna (a shared working space) and coffee shops in Nottingham city centre works for us and keeps us sane and topped up with caffeine.
Nottingham has a thriving independent scene, evident through the businesses in the Creative Quarter; an initiative which celebrates the city’s character, diversity and its heritage buildings.
With so many great places that actively encourage mobile working, I’m not sure I could even count the number of new coffee shops that have opened in Nottingham in the last year. I’m making it a personal mission to visit every single one though…
Out and about in Nottingham? Here are some of our favourite places to grab a coffee:
Coffee roasters who have opened a super friendly and cosy cafe with some of the best coffee in Nottingham.
Modern with a Scandi influence, I love the decor in here, it has the most amazing brunch and speciality coffee which they roast themselves. Much to our delight, we ended up doing ‘coffee tasting’ here on our last visit!
Located in Sherwood, Bakehouse create all their own bread and pastries on site. It has a really relaxed atmosphere and you can grab a beer, wine or gin there in the evening.
Cornerstone offers something quirky and different; tasty brunch and delicious artisan pizza set in a converted shipping container just off Sherwood high street.
